AVA – Become a Qualified Workplace Assessor
If you assess vocational qualifications or against industry standards, this qualification is for you.
You can become a qualified workplace assessor with our Agored Cymru Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (sometimes referred to as TAQA)

- Assessing Competence in the Work Environment
- Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement

What do I have to do?
You will attend a 2 day workshop to develop your knowledge of the role and responsibilities of an assessor. This includes:
- your legal responsibilities,
- assessment methods,
- coaching & reflection
You must be assessing a minimum of 2 learners following a vocational qualification/working towards industry standards, with access to an occupationally competent counter-signatory.
You will gather evidence of planning and carrying out assessment and providing feedback to these learners. You will be observed and coached by our Assessor to ensure you are fully competent.

How long is the course?
It will take between 3 to 6 months to complete the course in full, however, we can work at a pace to suit you.
How will I be assessed?
You will be required to complete assignments and the collect evidence of carrying out assessment in the workplace. Your assessor will also complete an observation of your assessment practice.
What related qualifications can you progress to?
You could progress to a range of teaching, training or quality assurance qualifications including the Level 3 Award in Education and Training or the Level 4 Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Practices and Process
When and where is the course held?
The workshops are held at Welsh ICE, Britannia House, Caerphilly Business Park, CF83 3GG.
There is free parking and a cafe on site.

Workplace assessments take place at a time and place to suit you.
How much does the course cost?
The full course costs £550 + VAT
(If you do not currently have access to learners and just wish to complete unit 1 – Understand the Principles and Practices of Assessment, this is £275 + VAT)

If a cancellation notice is received by Panda Education & Training less than 10 working days prior to the training date, the cancellation charge is 75% of the training fee.
Alternatively, a substitution can be made for the course.
If a paid for person has started their course and leaves the organisation, we cannot subsitute their payment for another person to start a new course.
Panda withhold the right to reschedule a course, if this happens a full refund will be given if the attendees cannot make the new date.
