
About this assessor course:
If you assess learners in the workplace against industry or occupational standards, you must hold this industry-standard qualification. This assessor course requires you to work with 2 learners in the workplace.
Assessing Competence in the Work Environment means that you will predominantly assess your learners through observation, checking work product (producing or updating documents or records) and questioning.
This assessor course is delivered in 3 parts:
- Attend 4 live online workshops (via Zoom)
- Complete 3 assignments
- Also, provide evidence of carrying out assessment of competence in the workplace

Further Information
To complete this qualification you must have access to 2 learners in the workplace who are working towards industry or qualification standards.
We are working in partnership with Bridgend College to fund this course – please ask us about eligibility requirements
This course can be completed in bilingually (workshops are in English, assignments and mentoring can be done in Welsh).
Related qualifications
Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement – is for teachers, tutors, trainers assessing at least 2 learners in a workshop or classroom situation. This qualification ensures you are developing skills to assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding.
Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement – is for teachers, tutors, trainers assessing at least 2 learners in a workplace situation. This qualification ensures you are developing skills to assess occupational competence and skills knowledge and understanding against qualification or industry standards.
Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training – this course is for anyone looking to further develop their teaching, training and assessment practice including planning and delivering inclusive training, developing resources that meet curriculum and accessibility requirements, whilst teaching (or training) in a specialist area. Funding is available for people in Wales through a partnership with Coleg y Cymoedd.
