We have devised a NEW range of online learning opportunities and online e-learning courses that will help develop the skills, knowledge and confidence of education practitioners.
We have over 20 years experience of delivering in person and live online training to tutors, trainers and assessors and have drawn on this to create interactive e-learning courses to encourage practitioners to reflect and improve their practice.
So, whether you are new into a training or assessment role, or whether you want to refresh your skills, we will have a course to meet your needs.
Online learning has now become a widely accepted way of learning and is often preferred to classroom-based courses. If you’re not sure whether online learning is right for you, we’ve outlined some of the benefits here in this article 👇
Learn new skills without disrupting your busy schedule
We get it – you’re busy! Modern day life is busier than it’s ever been before as we regain the notion of normality since the Pandemic.
If you have a job, whether it’s full or part-time, children, a house to maintain, shopping, school runs, errands, it can be extremely difficult to find the time to attend training.
But at the same time, we have to invest time in learning new skills so we can stay ahead in our careers and advance in life.
No traffic or public transport delays
No one wants to be stuck in traffic for hours or standing on a freezing cold train platform.
Let’s face it – travelling any distance to attend training is a hassle. If there’s an excellent learning opportunity, networking session or workshop that’s exactly what you’re looking for, but it’s in another city – that’s a huge barrier that could stop you from attending.
It’s not just to cost of travel, it’s the time it takes, the stress, the planning and the time spent away from home and our families.
Travel and transport have been traditional barriers to attending courses – not anymore! Online learning allows you to login to join the session from home.
Learn at your own pace
Online learning lets you learn at your own pace, at any time of day or night. You can even access course material from home 24/7 so you’re not restricted.
Many learners need to review information several times before absorbing it, but in a live training session, the pace of the session is set collectively or by the trainer.
It can be incredibly frustrating if the pace of the session doesn’t match your preference for learning. If the pace is too fast, you can get left behind, feeling confused or even panicked; if it’s too slow you can feel bored.
It matters about what you do with your learning after the course
ALL our online courses are accompanied with a short group Zoom session to reflect on how the learning has been implemented into your practice. In the Plan a Training Session course, you even get 15 minute one to one session to review a training plan you have put together. We want to ensure that what you learn has improved your skills as an education practitioner.
Online Learning helps you develop new habits as well as new skills
Online learning is an opportunity for you to develop new lifetstyle habits.
Online learning solves this, especially as sessions are recorded for learners to watch back afterwards. Some online courses are pre-recorded so they’re available 24/7 – no need to stick to anyone else’s schedule or pace except for your own.
By spending time investing in your own skills, you’re also improving your general capacity for learning.
Investing in learning and self-development is an excellent habit to have.

You may find it easier to concentrate in your own environment
Environment and your surroundings is everything. Even something such as the temperature of the room can affect your ability to learn.
In a group setting, you don’t have much control over your environment because there has to be a consensus that suits everyone. But if you’re working from home or a space that you’ve chosen yourself, you have a lot more control over your own comfort.
There are no social pressures to dress, sit or behave in a certain way if you’re sat at home on your own.
Training in an external setting is an additional pressure, many times you’re going to a new location that you may not have visited before, you’re surrounded by new people and everything feels quite ‘formal’. Attending training from home removes these external pressures and lets you focus on learning.
However, it’s important that you take some steps to reduce distractions you face at home too:
Tips for better concentration when attending online training
- Keep children and pets pre-occupied – if there are others at home with you, make sure they know you’re attending online training too.
- Close other programmes or applications on your computer – make sure that alerts and notifications don’t pop up in the corner to distract you
- Turn off notifications on your phone, put your phone on silent, ‘Do Not Disturb Mode’ or leave it in another room
- Have a few refreshments and snacks to hand, such as a water bottle, cup of tea, some biscuits or sweets
- Check that the temperature and lighting is to your liking so that you’re comfortable. You won’t be able to focus if you’re too cold, too hot or straining your eyes when looking at your computer screen!
- Sit comfortably – whether you’re sat at a desk, table or sitting up in bed, make sure you’re not straining your neck awkwardly to see the screen.
